Subject: RE: UASC Reform Steering Group - 22 October, LGA

Hi Steve,

It looks like the majority can make the 22 October at the LGA, I'm afraid, so I think it would be best to go ahead rather than re-arrange. It is unfortunate about the timings re NCAS but it seemed most appropriate to meet before the UKBA regional roadshows and meetings with individual LAs to discuss becoming specialist authorities. In terms of ADCS representation, it was more an issue of ascertaining who would be replacing Pauline on the Group. But sorry if this date is difficult for you (and others) and I'll circulate notes from the meeting asap so everyone can be kept up to speed.

Kind regards,

Emma

Importance: High

Emma – apologies for not replying sooner – I agree that it would be useful for the group to meet again to progress the discussions. The reason why you may not have had a response from me or other ADCS representatives is that the 22nd October is the first day of the National Children and Adult Services Conference 2008 in Liverpool and I was waiting for confirmation of my booking for this conference. I don’t know if colleagues are going to the conference but this would preclude me from attending a meeting in London from 11am to 2pm.

To avoid postponing the proposed meeting, given that not everybody is London based and some of us will have travelled to Liverpool anyway, any chance of having the meeting there?

Dear all,

Though still subject to final confirmation from ADCS representatives, it does look like this meeting is going ahead. If you haven't yet confirmed your attendance, then do please drop me a line.

I thought we'd have a general discussion, then invite the UKBA's UASC Reform Team along to give an update on the programme from their point of view. If you have any specific items to add to the agenda or the discussion, then please also drop me a line.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Emma

Subject: UASC Reform Steering Group - invite to 22 October meeting

Dear all,

Following the developing work on UASC reform, we thought it might be useful to reconvene the 'UASC Reform Steering Group' which was originally set up to pull together a response to the initial consultation.

We are proposing to hold at meeting at the LGA on 22 October from 11.00 - 2.00, subject to interest in holding the meeting from you all.

We will invite UKBA to attend to provide an update on the programme and have a discussion on key issues.

If you are interested and able to attend, I'd be very grateful if you could drop me a line as soon as possible.

With many thanks and kind regards,

Emma
