Thank you for your request for information that was received on 13 March 09 in which you requested:

1) Which council run cemeteries has a Muslim section, and/or

accommodate Islamic burials?

2) If any, when (WHICH YEAR) were the Muslim sections established,

or policies to accommodate Islamic burials implemented?

The information that you requested is as follows

Muslim burials have been taking place in Nunhead cemetery since 13.4.1993 in Square 63. They are normally dug for one person only, and a coffin burial is required.
