Dear Mr Sittampala

Thank you for your email of 24 April 2009 following on from our earlier exchange of correspondence regarding details of ACPO funding. Please accept my apologies for not replying to you sooner.

You have requested that we provide details of costs estimates so that you can narrow your request or challenge our estimate.

I am afraid that it is not possible to this as there is no central Home Office registry which means that we would have to contact every Directorate in the Home Office to find out this information. There are 53 Directorates within the Home Office and these are broken down by units within these areas. A search through these is not a feasible option.

I would suggest that you refine your request by focusing on a particular area within the Home Office (crime, policing, drugs & alcohol etc). if you refine it so that it falls under the cost limit, we will consider it further.
