Fair Processing Statement 
 
The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) collects personal data for the 
purposes of policingadministration and ancillary support for policing
and staff administration.  The policing purpose includes, but is not limited to, 
the prevention and detection of crime, the preservation of life, the prosecution 
of offenders, and the maintenance of law and order.  Administration and 
ancillary support for policing includes, but is not limited to, communications, 
finance, income generation, and marketing. 
 
Personal data held by the MPS may be shared for a lawful purpose with a 
variety of other agencies for the purposes of policing or administration and 
ancillary support for policing.  This includes, but is not limited to, other UK 
police forces, UK and international law enforcement agencies, government 
departments, transport bodies, local authorities, health authorities, academic 
and research bodies, courts and public inquiries, regulatory bodies, the prison 
and probation service, insurance companies, registered charities, voluntary 
bodies, and solicitors.
