FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000
I am writing to you following your recent request for information and the subsequent acknowledgement and correspondence relating to your request.
You asked for “the dates and times from this day forward when VOSA will be carrying out vehicle inspections on the A5 (Nesscliffe by-pass, Shropshire).
I can confirm that VOSA does hold the above information.
However, having taken your request into full consideration, the Agency has decided not to disclose the information that you have requested.
The Agency is applying the following exemptions under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:-
Section 31
(1) Information which is not exempt information by virtue of section 30 is exempt
information if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to,
prejudice-
(g) the exercise by any public authority of its functions for any of the purposes
specified in subsection (2).
(2) The purposes referred to in subsection (1) (g) to (i) are -
(a) the purpose of ascertaining whether any person has failed to comply with
the law,
(b) the purpose of ascertaining whether any person is responsible for any
conduct which is improper,
(c) the purpose of ascertaining whether circumstances which would justify
regulatory action in pursuance of any enactment exist or may arise.
This exemption is subject to a public interest test, a copy of which I have attached to this letter.
