Gender pay gap:
The current national average UK gender pay gap according to the Office for National Statistics is 17.1 per cent. The Commission has a gender pay gap of 5.51per cent. These figures were arrived at by comparing average full-time earnings of men compared to women, which is the accepted way of comparing figures. As a general guide, `significant' differences between the average basic pay of men and women would be classed as over 5 per cent. The Commission is therefore committed to reducing the current gap by at least 0.51 percent to be below this level.
