A business in difficulty: - is unable to stem losses which will almost certainly condemn it to go out of business in the short or medium term OR - has lost more than half of its registered capital (and more than one quarter of that capital has been lost over the preceding twelve months) OR - is classified as insolvent.
A business start up set up by woman means a small enterprise where at least 51% of the capital is owned by one or more women or women are the registered owners of the enterprise and a woman is in charge of the management of the enterprise.
Young innovative enterprise is a small enterprises less than 6 years old where R&D costs represented at least 15% of their operating costs in one of the previous 3 years
Aid for export-related activity is aid directly linked to the quantity exported, to the establishment and operation of a distribution network or to other current expenditure linked to the export activity.
Aid contingent on the use of domestic over imported goods is aid that is dependant on the recipient using it for domestic goods only and prohibiting the use of imported goods.
Disadvantaged workers is any person who: • has not been in regular paid employment for the previous 6 months; • has not attained an upper secondary educational or vocational qualification (A level or equivalent); • is over the age of 50; • lives as a single adult with one or more dependents; • works in a sector or profession where the gender imbalance is at least 25% higher than the average gender imbalance across all sectors and belongs to that underrepresented group; or • is a member of an ethnic minority who requires development of his or her linguistic, vocational training or work experience profile to enhance prospects of gaining stable employment.
