Thank you for your email which was received by the University on 20 February 2009 timed 
1825 hours, requesting the following: 
 
 
Can you please send me a copy of your annual report of your audit committee and a 
copy of your annual report of your internal auditor for each of the years ended 2003 to 
2008. 
 
Can you please also tell me the identity of your internal audit provider and the cost of 
your internal audit service for each of the years from 2003 to 2008.

The identity and position held of those persons recorded in the documents that constitute the 
University’s response to your request for information have been redacted as (a) the identities 
are considered as personal data as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998, and (b) the 
release of the identities and position held by those individuals would be in breach of the data 
protection principles as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998. Therefore the exemption from 
release of the information applies as specified under sections 38(1)(b) and 38(2) of the 
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. This exemption is an absolute exemption under 
of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. 
 
 
Can you please also tell me the identity of your internal audit provider and the cost of 
your internal audit service for each of the years from 2003 to 2008. 
 
Internal audit was provided in-house for the years 2003 to 2006.  
In June 2006 the provision of internal audit was outsourced to Deloitte & Touche.
