Thank you for your email of 23 June requesting information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  
Each of your questions are answered below: 
 
1.  Whether Professor Ernst has ever practised as a homeopath in a professional capacity. If 
so, was this a private practice?  
The University would only hold this information if it forms part of an application form or curriculum 
vitae held for Prof. Ernst.  This request is asking for the personnel data of Professor Ernst and the 
University believes that the release of this information would breach the first principle of the Data 
Protection Act 1998 and that the information is therefore exempt under section 40 of the Freedom 
of Information Act 2000.   
 
2.  Was he ever presented any cases at a professional conference / seminar?  
Please find attached a list  of lectures and seminars given  by  Professor Ernst between 2004 and 
2007. 
 
3.  Can Professor Ernst prove that he does indeed have a proper working knowledge of the 
subject?  
The University does not hold the information requested here. 
 
4.  How long did he devote to his studies?  
Please see the response to part 1 above.
