Please could you give me some information regarding the policing of the St 
George's Day parade in Dartmouth Park, Sandwell on 20/4/2008. 
 
Please tell me  
 
a) how many people you estimate were on the parade 
 
The procession numbers during the event were estimated at being approximately 
10,000. 
 
b) the cost of policing the event,  
 
There is no cost to West Midlands Police associated with the event. Officers were 
deployed in duty time and there is no cost in respect of the Special Constabulary. 
 
c) the number of arrests,  
 
There were 2 arrests during the start of the procession for drunkenness. There were 
2 more additional arrests later in the afternoon for theft. 
 
d) the value of any damage to public property. 
 
West Midlands Police are not aware of any damage to public property associated 
with this event. 
West Midlands Police in complying with their statutory duty under sections 1 and 11 of the Freedom of Information
