FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST  
 
Thank you for your request for Information received on 22 February 2009.  
 
Please find the information that you have requested below: 
 
Information obtained from previous FOI request (RFI/04078): 
 
In the past five years, how many children (aged between 0 and 16 years) who were 
in the "at risk" register or care of Camden council died as a result of: 
 
     (a) child abuse/neglect: None. 
 
     (b) drug abuse: None. 
 
     (c) accident: 1 child (in care). 
 
     (d) unknown causes: None. 
 
     (e) other causes: 3 children (1 in care and 2 on the "at risk" register).  
 
 
1. Please specify and explain the "other causes" of death of the 3 children on 
the "at risk" register. 
 
As stated in our previous reply above, out of the 3 children who died as a result of 
‘other causes’, 2 were on the “at risk” register and 1 was in care. 
 
1. Non resident parent convicted of the murder. 
2. Sudden unexplained death in infancy (SUDI). 
3. Inquest returned open verdict (This is in relation to the child who died while in 
care).
