Dear Mr Hood,

Thank you for your email of 8 February 2009 where you have requested information about the screening of passengers against immigration, customs and police watch-lists. This falls to be dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I have outlined your questions below for ease of reference:

Would you please tell me how many of those arrested had committed:

  1. Murder?

  2. Rape?

  3. Assault?

And of those guilty of assault, what proportion had committed:

  1. Grievous bodily harm?

  2. Actual bodily harm?

  3. Common assault?
