I am writing further to your request for information dated 26 January 2009 to advise you that the information you requested is being withheld under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The exemption which apply to this information is: section 30 Investigations & proceedings by public authorities.

(1)Information for investigations and proceedings that the public authority has the duty to conduct that the person who is charged which may lead to a decision for criminal charges.

(2) Information if it was obtained or recorded for the purposes of criminal proceedings under the authority and civil proceedings brought on or on the behalf of the authority.

You have requested a full list of fixed CCTV camera locations in the London Borough of Southwark.

It is our honest opinion that having a complete map of every camera in the Borough, it would enable terrorists, criminals etc to plot routes without being on CCTV and, although this could be done by them walking around, not disclosing the map does make it more difficult.
