Dear Mr Anderson

Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA)

Reference No: FOI09-1995

Your request is

As of the 4th of December 2008

1: How many DNA and fingerprint samples of innocent people have

been deleted ?

2: How many innocent people requested their DNA and fingerprint

samples be deleted?

3: If no DNA and fingerprint samples have been deleted i wish to

know the reasons WHY as the UK Government have been found to be in

breach of innocent peoples human rights and this would be

considered a crime in itself.

4: As there is no right of appeal from a final decision made by the

Grand Chamber when will your police force be routinely be deleting

records of innocent people ?

Under S 1 (3) (a) of the FOIA, I require clarification of your request.

Under S 1 (3) of the FOIA -

“Where a public authority -

  1. reasonably requires further information in order to identify and locate the information requested, and

  2. has informed the applicant of that requirement,

Please could you specify the term `innocent'. Are you referring to persons arrested and not charged, or persons who have provided voluntary samples that may have been used for elimination purposes?

Nottinghamshire Police is not required to comply with your request until further information has been supplied. Therefore the 20 working days has stopped until sufficient information has been received.

Yours sincerely
