FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 (the Act) REQUEST

In your e-mail dated 30 January 2009 you requested the following information regarding the following information;

  1. How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which the Council has access to waiting list data?

  2. In total, how many plots are on these sites?

  3. In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?

  4. Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

  5. How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

Section 1(1)(a) of the Act requires the Council to inform you whether it holds information of the description specified in your request. I can confirm that the Council does hold this information. In discharge of its obligations under section 1(1)(b) the Council can provide the following information:

  1. North Devon District Council is responsible for one allotment site, which is situated at Mill Road, Barnstaple. Barnstaple Town Council is responsible for any other Allotment sites within the area. Information regarding these sites can be obtained by contacting Tracey Weaver on 01271 373311 or you may e-mail her direct on [email address]. Information is also provided on the Council's website, www.northdevon.gov.uk.

  2. Mill Road Allotment site has 24 plots.

  3. Currently there are 27 applicants on the waiting list for a plot at Mill Road.

  4. The list will be closed when the number of applications reaches 30.

  5. See answer regarding question 1.

The information provided to you under the Act is for your own use only and may not be re-used without the consent of the Council.
