Thank you for your letter which was received on 29 January 2009 in which you asked for information on when the Consultancy Solace Enterprises has been used since 1997 by Hackney Council.

I can confirm that Hackney Council has not used Solace Enterprises for permanent recruitment exercises.

However the Flexible Resourcing division of Solace has provided several interim managers over the years to cover vacancies on an agency worker basis for which we've paid a daily rate. These have not led to permanent appointments or affected the salary of the established post once we have recruited.
