| 1) Could I obtain the number of people who were diagnosed with
chemotherapy-induced febrile neutropenia. The number of deaths
due to chemotherapy-induced febrile neutropenia in 2008?

| Answer:We are not aware of any deaths in 2008 related to an acute admission death with post chemotherapy neutropenic sepsis. However the Trust does not record all admissions with neutropenic sepsis post chemotherapy as the route of admission is variable in all cases and in some cases death will be due to multiple causes, including neutropenic sepsis. The Trust has introduced a specific care pathway for all acute admissions of adult neutropenic patients to ensure that they receive optimised care. |
