Dear Mr Clark

Re: Request under Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Chemotherapy-induced febrile neutropenia

Thank you for your request for information regarding the above which I received

on the 21st January 2009.

The Trust does hold this information. The number of patients diagnosed with chemotherapy induced febrile neutropenia during 2008 was 25.

I have been unable to provide the number of deaths due to chemotherapy induced febrile neutropenia due to the very low numbers involved, therefore under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, ABM University NHS Trust would rely on Section 40 exemption within the Act in order to protect the identity of those individuals. As the exemption relates to personal information and to provide this information would increase the likelihood of identification of that individual.

The Trust operates a system of Internal Review.  Should you consider that our

response to your request has not been managed appropriately please contact

my office at Trust Headquarters below.

If after Internal Review you remain dissatisfied you are also entitled to refer

the matter to the Information Commissioner at the Information Commissioner's

Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF

(Tel 01625 545 745, Fax 01625 524510).

Yours sincerely

Mr Steve Combe
