Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Request for Information – Febrile Neutropenia 
 
I refer to your request for information from Bradford and Airedale Teaching Primary Care 
Trust regarding the above. 
 
You requested: 
 
“Could I obtain the number of people who were diagnosed with febrile neutropenia and the 
number of deaths due to febrile neutropenia for 2008?” 
 
As it is not possible to identify Febrile Neutropenia from the data and the disease is a sub-
group of Agranulocytosis which is listed as D70 in the ICD10, we have used these codes to 
pull off the following information.  We cannot therefore give specific numbers for febrile 
neutropenia but hope the information we have provided will assist you. 
 
In patients – 327 cases (across all diagnosis) is all cases of Agranulocytosis admitted to 
hospital. It does not include any patients who were treated only as out-patients. 
 
Deaths – 14 (across all date of births)
