I am writing to acknowledge your request for information dated 12th January 2009 which is being dealt with under the Freedom Of Information Act 2000 (FOI).

Your request has been given the unique access to information code NBC780-1046. Please quote this reference on any correspondence relating to this request.

With reference to your request regarding the amount of times the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) has investigated maladministration against individual employees of Northampton Borough Council and if any disciplinary action was taken against them.

The LGO has issued reports regarding maladministration against the Council but no individual employees have been disciplined regarding this.

For your convenience attached are the LGO letters from 2005 - 2008. These are the only LGO letters still held by the Council.

The disclosure to you of the enclosed information does not give you a right to reproduce or publish such information without the express permission of Northampton Borough Council or any other owners of the copyright therein.

If you consider the Council has not provided the information you have requested you have the right to challenge that decision in respect of your information request within 6 months.
