Mr Dennis Fallon

Reference: T3139/9

19 February 2009

Dear Mr Fallon,

Thank you for your e-mail of 18 February 2009 regarding your previous correspondence relating to various queries concerning flashing Gatso

Speed cameras.

With regard to your previous correspondence in this matter I can confirm that all your queries will be answered in full. I can also confirm that the chief scientific officer in HOSDB responsible for speed cameras will ensure you are provided with a proper explanation of any statements that are forwarded to you. However, I should advise that it is not constructive to continue to write emails in a sustained manner after my previous assurances of a response. The Home Office and indeed the Road Crime Section deal with a large amount of correspondence under the requirements and time limits set by the Cabinet Office. If, as in your case we are unable to meet any deadlines for a particular reason the enquirer is notified.

You will no doubt receive a joint response to your letters within the next 10 days as the officer responsible has recently returned to work from hospital.

Yours sincerely

Sammy Jegede
