CCC Cuts - Community Pools

The request was successful.

Dear Cumbria County Council,
In response to your online consultation on cuts to services I would request the following information

Preable (from CCC website)
-------
Remove funding for community use of swimming pools - Saving £250k
The council currently provides funding to subsidise the public access to swimming pools in the county. This proposal would remove this funding. Pools in Cumbria are operated by a range of different organisations. In response to withdrawal of this funding they may choose to reduce costs or increase income to ensure the continued operation of their pool. There are examples of this being achieved in other parts of the country.

Questions:-
* Which pools?
* How much does CCC give per pool? Either a complete list of all funds by date or a spreadsheet showing yearly funding.
* Is the funding Capital/Revenue/Both?
* Where is the nearest Council run pool to the pool that will have funding removed? i.e. Lazonby to Penrith
* If known, what is the current usage levels ie how many people does the pool serve

Yours faithfully,

Rick Seymour

Dear Cumbria County Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Cumbria County Council's handling of my FOI request 'CCC Cuts - Community Pools'.

(CCC Internal References below)

The information contained within this FOI request was to be used as part of the public consultation into the cuts to be made by CCC.

Many of the cuts proposed are vague at best with no real detail on how front line services will be affected, hence this FOI.

With the deadline to the end of the public consultation fast approaching it would seem that the 8 FOI requests I submitted, which go to multiple directorates have been deliberately held back to withhold the truth from the citizens of Cumbria.

I therefore request a full internal review on why none of my FOIs have been returned.
This message will also be posted on the CCC Consultation Website and forwarded to relevant media outlets, and if the review is not satisfactory this will be referred to the ICO.
