Dear Imran Zar

RE: -  FoI request for information

On the 06/01/2009 you requested information, using the Freedom of Information Act.
Plymouth Teaching Primary Care Trust is in accordance with Section 1.-(1) (a) & (b)
of the Act is supplying the information to you.

Your Request

I would like to request a complete list of contractors and consultants that the trust
uses on new builds and refurbishments.

Our Reply

In terms of new builds, we would seek to take advantage of the LIFT partnership
arrangement that we have with ReSound (Health) Limited and so would not engage
directly with either contractors or consultants.  Where refurbishments are sufficiently
large to make a LIFT scheme viable, we would hope to follow that route in those
circumstances as well.

With regard to refurbishments that are not sufficiently large to warrant a LIFT
scheme, the non-specialist contractors and consultants (e.g. building contractors)
that we use are selected from a list maintained by Constructionline, which is a site
maintained by the Department of Trade and Industry. Quick link:
http://www.constructionline.co.uk

Specialist contractors (including some consultants) are normally selected via national
agreements or through local tendering arrangements, depending on need.

Please see FOIA request no 485 in the PCT disclosure log for a list of suppliers and
services. Quick Link: http://www.plymouthpct.nhs.uk/findinginformation/Pages/foia485.aspx
