MWN meeting with DoH 14^th November 2007. Funding of £15,000 has been awarded for two events looking at barriers to services for Muslim women. The events will be in Bolton and Blackburn before the end of the financial year (31 March 2008).

MWN has received funding of £15,000 from DCLG to run a 5-day workshop for 20-25 community workers on Gender, Islam and Advocacy, again before the end of the financial year.

Shaista Gohir has been asked to be on the new Muslim Women Advisory Group set up by Hazel Blears.

It was announced that Haleh will become a non-party-political peer

Liberty are preparing media training for MWN.

Sabin informed us of the DCLG's good practice guide, which highlights good practice of Muslim women projects. The work of MWN to be submitted for inclusion in this before the deadline of Dec 7^th. This will be launched in January 2008.

We have twelve new Partners from October 2007 to end November 2007.

This includes one new Partner from the event in Swansea.

The Winter edition of the WNC Newsletter will be sent out December 7th.

Partners have been asked for their feedback on the changes they'd like to see in the Newsletter.

Both website and newsletter need creative changes to be more user friendly and appealing, this is dependent on Commissioners decisions and resources available.

This will be produced week commencing 10^th December.
