Welcome

  1. JG welcomed Commissioners, giving apologies for Ranjana Bell and Brenda King. Liz Kelly also gave apologies as she was running late and would join Commissioners for the dinner.

Honours

  1. Hayley Harris and Lynda Jones from the CLG Honours secretariat joined the meeting at this point. They gave a short explanation of the structure and process that is involved in submitting and evaluating citations for honours (CBE/OBE/MBE). This was followed by a question and answer session.

Action point LE1 - WNC to put link to honours website on WNC site.

  1. JG and SG gave an update on the WNC review and the current location of the `Equalities' portfolios across government. It was explained that this could change over the next few weeks.

Action point LE2 - Contact WEU to flag up potential error in naming Julia Neuberger as a Minister, rather than an adviser.

Action Point LE3 - Produce UK wide list of Women ministers, once Welsh assembly executive is agreed

Action Point LE4 - Invite Harriet Harman and Barbara Follet to next WNC meeting, to be done ASAP.

  1. As JG and AG were now due to meet Harriet Harman and Barbara Follett at a reception that evening, the meeting was closed earlier than planned at 17.50.
