MWN's report, 'She Who Disputes- Muslim Women Shape the Debate' was launched on 7 December 2006. Secretary of State for Health, Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt spoke at the launch and the report her support. We have since, at Particia Hewitt's request, met with her to talk about taking forward some of the issues raised within the report regarding health. We are also in the process of applying for funding in conjunction with the think tank, Demos to carry out a project on Muslim women and employment. As WNC is not a charity, Demos has made the funding application and if successful we would be working with them. We have currently got through to the second stage of the funding process and hope to hear the results in March.
