I write in connection with your request for information dated concerning information on 
anthrax or white powder Hoaxes utilizing the postal system in 2003. 
 
The FOI Act requires public authorities to comply with all requests promptly and within 
20 working days, but the legislation (S.10(3)) also allows for this to be extended for a 
reasonable time when considering a qualified exemption and considering the public 
interest test. 
 
I am writing today to advise you that the matters under consideration have not yet 
been finalised and I am unable to give a final response to your request at this time. I 
would expect to be able to send a final response within four weeks but will keep you 
updated if that is not the case.
