Re: Freedom of Information Request

In response to your Freedom of Information Request, I can confirm the following.

Para 1 - We are unable to answer this question as we do not have a HR system that records reasons for absence.

Para 2 - The Grievance and Disciplinary database only records complaints for the joint category “Harassment and/or Bullying”, it does not record cases for just bullying. Therefore the figure given will include both types of cases.

55 cases which included elements of Harassment and/or Bullying were reported to Corporate Human Resources during the period 1st August 2004 to 31st October 2008.

However it should be noted that historically it is known that there has been under-reporting of cases to this section. Therefore, the figures only reflect the `known' number of cases; potentially there may have been other cases that Corporate HR are not aware of.
