YOUR REQUEST FOR INFORMATION UNDER THE FREEDOM OF 
INFORMATION ACT 2000  
 
I am writing regarding your request for information which was received on 9 
December 2008. You requested information relating to community first responders in 
Lancashire and Greater Manchester. 
 
You requested information about locations, operational areas, number of volunteers 
and costs of operation. 
 
I attach information relating to each scheme in both Lancashire and Greater 
Manchester. This information also includes Cumbria as Cumbria and Lancashire 
form a single operational area within the Trust. 
 
The latest annual financial costs are those for 2007/08 and in Greater Manchester, 
the totals were £41,704 for pay and £13,489 for non-pay items. However the costs 
for Lancashire are combined with Cumbria as Cumbria & Lancashire form one 
management area. It is not practical to quote a separate figure for Lancashire. The 
figures for Cumbria & Lancashire are £130,626 (pay costs) and £31,581 (non-pay 
items). In addition certain costs were met through a separate and independent 
charity rather than by the Trust.
