Thank you for your letter to Somerset County Council under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 asking for a list of all nurseries and pre-schools, both private and council run, within the Somerset area.

Please find attached the list of all pre-schools and nursery providers for whom we have permission to share details. As over 93% of providers of childcare in Somerset are Private, Voluntary or Independent without their express consent we have no right to share their information with any one outside of the Children and Young Peoples Directorate. After our complete data refresh at the start of the year we currently have permission to share 65% of the pre-schools and nursery provider's data but are constantly working to try and improve this number.
