Dear Mr A Williams

Your Freedom of Information Request:

I am pleased to enclose the following information, which I believe answers
your request.

Question:  Please can you quantify the Current, basic Fostering Allowances
in your area, per age of child?  Do these Allowances include Child Benefit or
do Foster Parents receive Child Benefit in addition to Fostering Allowances?
Are additional Allowances paid for things like Christmas and Birthday
Presents, Holidays, School Uniform, etc?

Answer:  We do not pay child benefit to any carer and the carer cannot claim
this as they will be receiving a fostering allowance.

Fostering Payments broken down into:
Scale a 0 - 4 years   £120.19 per week
Scale b 5 -10 yrs      £133.77
Scale c 11-15           £164.57
Scale d 16+              £200.13

Level 1 is   £6,167.00 p.a.   (£120.05 per week)
Level 2 is £12,334.00 p.a.   (£240.10 per week)

Foster carers receive an extra weeks allowance at Christmas and birthdays if
a child is in placement.  Foster carers receive up to two weeks extra
allowance for holidays a year.   School uniform needs to be paid out of the
allowance.
