Dear Mr Abantu-Choudhury
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
We refer to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act
(FOIA) received by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) on 9 November
2008 requesting the following information:
I would like to know how many times any Community Liaison Officer -
from the London 2012 Olympic Community Liaison team - has been to
or visited, any of the residents of Leabank Square, Berkshire Road,
Hackney Wick, E9 - since it’s conception until today Sunday 9th
November 2008.
I need to know:
1.  the dates,
2.  who they visited, and
3.  what was the reason for the visit?

We confirm that we hold some of the information of the description specified in
your request.
We would first like to take the opportunity to advise you of the distinction
between the ODA and the London Organising Committee for the Olympic
Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). This is important as your request
has asked for information relating to the work of Community Liaison Officers
from “the London 2012 Olympic Community liaison team” (our emphasis) and
there is no such team. The ODA is the Non-Departmental Public Body
responsible for building many of the venues, utilities and infrastructure for the
London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the Games). LOCOG is a
private company limited by guarantee which is responsible for staging and
hosting the Games. While the 2 organisations work closely with each other,
we are to separate legal entities. Each organisation has their own
Communications Departments which have their own Community Liaison, or
External Relations teams. In terms of the FOIA we can only provide you with
information which we hold and can therefore only answer your question in as
far as we have the information relating to the ODA’s External Relations team.
The ODA External Relations team has held 2 meetings with the Chair of the
Lea Bank Residents Association. These meetings were held on 1 and 13
August 2008 and are the only meetings with Lea Bank Residents as
represented by you as Chairman of the Residents Association. These
meetings were used to inform the Lea Bank Residents of the construction
program on the Olympic Park and mitigation measures in place for
environmental management, as well as to listen to the concerns of the local
residents as passed on to the ODA by the you as Chairman of the Residents
Association.
We would also like to advise you that in addition to the above 2 meetings
specifically with the Lea Bank Residents Association, the ODA External
Relations team has held 20 other events in the Hackney Wick Area including
meetings, consultations and drop-in sessions since 2007 to date.
We will continue to engage with the Lea Bank Residents Association and the
residents of the Hackney Wick area throughout the construction programme of
the Olympic Park.

We trust that the above information is of assistance to you. However, if you
are not satisfied with the response to your request and wish to make a
complaint, you should write to The Information Officer, Olympic Delivery
Authority, One Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5LN. Please state
detailed grounds for your complaint.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the
Information Commissioner will not make a decision unless you have
exhausted the complaint procedure provided by the ODA. The Information
Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information Commissioner’s Office,
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Yours sincerely

Information Officer
Olympic Delivery Authority
