I write in connection with your request for information dated 24th October 2008                  
concerning Homophobic hate crimes. 
 
The FOI Act requires public authorities to comply with all requests promptly and within 
20 working days, however, whilst every effort is made to comply with this requirement, 
on occasions it is necessary to exceed the 20 day time limit to ensure that all relevant 
information is included within the reply. 
 
I am writing today to advise you that we are still processing your request and I would 
expect to be able to send a final response within four weeks but will keep you updated 
if that is not the case.
