Dear Mr T Daly
Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information
I am writing in respect of your enquiry dated 7th June 2010 for information held by the Council. Your enquiry is being dealt with under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
1. You requested information relating to Closed Circuit Television controlled by Dartford Borough Council.
2. The following information is provided free of charge in response to your enquiry.
1. The number of requests made for Permit parking to be implemented
on Gordon Road.
We do not have data for the number of requests made for permit parking on Gordon Road as consultation with local residents was undertaken and collated by areas or zones around Dartford Town Centre. Gordon Road was part of the Dartford South consultation area and as a result of our second round of consultation with local residents over 67% of local residents who responded either agreed or strongly agreed that improved kerb management was needed for the area.
2. The number of complaints about parking problems on Gordon Road
We not have any specific record of complaints from individual local residents about parking problems on Gordon Road.
3. Any plans that the Council has to implement parking
restrictions/permits on Gordon Road;
Gordon Road is part of the Dartford Town Centre parking scheme. The restrictions supported by the majority of residents was to introduce resident permits for Gordon Road and other roads in the area.
4. The average number of cars that the Council would provide
parking space for on Gordon Road
We have ensured that the kerb space in Gordon Road is prioritised for local resident permit holders and therefore (subject to some double yellow lines that are required for safety purposes) all available kerb space will be for local resident permit holders during the hours of 9.30 - 4.30 pm Mon - Sat. We have estimated that the available space would allow for over 50 cars to be parked.
5. The number of cars parked on Gordon Road on an average working
day.
We cannot state how many cars are parked on an average working day as we do not hold that data. However, as part of the development of parking proposals for Dartford we did a `spot survey' in the relevant streets to help develop our proposals. At the time of the `spot survey' 47 cars were parked in Gordon Road.
3. If you are unhappy with the way in which your enquiry has been dealt with, you may ask for an internal review by initiating the Council's Corporate Complaints Procedure, details of which may be obtained by logging onto the Council's website http://www.dartford.gov.uk/council/ or telephoning or emailing me. Should you remain dissatisfied with the decision on internal review, you may appeal to the Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow SK9 5AF.
I would be grateful if you would address any future correspondence you may have in relation to this matter, to me, quoting the reference number FOI 821. Please familiarise yourself with the informative on re-use of information.
Yours sincerely
