Dear Mr Chamberlain,
Request for information RFI/02161
Thank you for your email of 28th May 2010 in which you asked:
There are presently redecoration works taking place at East Greenwich Library. Could you please send me the schedule of works so that local people can see what is taking place? Requests from the Friends of East Greenwich Library users' group to the cabinet member concerned have so far been fruitless.
The work currently in progress at East Greenwich Library is to repair the main roof and the drainage systems in order to prevent water penetration and damage to the building. The initial survey work identified damage to the drainage pipes and areas of the roof affected by previous thefts of lead. Work is being planned to minimise disruption to service users.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision, you should write to the Chief Executive, London Borough of Greenwich, Town Hall, Wellington Street, Woolwich SE18 6PW.
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Council. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Yours sincerely,
Jan Goldsmith
