Freedom of Information Request - CCTV Markings

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. Your request asked for:

The letters CCTV and other arrows and markings have recently been

painted on the foot path outside of my home on Compton Road,

Cradley Heath and wish to receive further information regarding

what future work this relates to, and if it is relating to

installation of CCTV cameras, where will they be located, who will

be operating them and who will they be operated on behalf of.

Firstly, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your Freedom of Information request. In this case, the Council has failed to answer your enquiry within the twenty working days required by the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

This delay has been primarily due to an internal error, where the request was not allocated to the correct officer. Once the request was allocated to the correct investigating officer, he contacted a number of colleagues, in a timely manner, in an attempt to answer your enquiry. He also arranged for a member of staff to visit the road in question.

The investigating officer has now confirmed the following:

An Enforcement Officer has investigated the road and was unable to see the markings you are referring to.

The investigating officer has confirmed that the markings could be showing the line of the utility services in the footway and the CCTV letters are indicating the line of cable TV ducting, as the Street Works Register does show that Virgin Media has apparatus in this road.
