Building construction is procured by Property Services which has its own in house team of professional services. A similar arrangement exists within Environment and Transport Services in respect of civil work.
3. If by your own framework, please tell me:
a. The titles and content of the relevant frameworks
b. Who is on the current frameworks
c. The start and end dates of the frameworks
d. Any possible extention periods to the frameworks
Major and Minor capital work is procured through 2 No frameworks:
Band 2 Single supplier, Willmott Dixon, £1M - £25M, started 16th October 06, expires 15th October 2010, no extension.
Band 1 multiple supplier, Galliford Try, Interserve and G F Tomlinson, £200k - £1M,
Started 29th November 06, expires 28th November 2010, no extension.
The process for a new framework has got to PQQ stage. In light of budget cuts and significant reduction in capital works, or even complete stop, this process is on hold pending a review. There are options to use external frameworks such as SCAPE or EMPA.
Where consultants are needed, they are employed through the framework contractors.
Small and reactive maintenance works are currently procured through a lengthy select list. This is currently under review and it is anticipated a new system will be in place for April 2011. Use is also made of SCAPE contracts for re-roofing and window replacement. Term contracts exist for temporary accommodation and tarmacadam.
