I am writing to you in response to your request under the Freedom of Information Act, reference number 768 original request dated 31^st July 2008.

In reviewing this case I have looked at your initial request for information and your comments when asking for a review.

PART 1- Review of Request

1. Please can you provide summary information on all meetings between

the Department for Work and Pensions during 2008 including at

ministerial level with telephone service providers in connection

with changes to existing telephony infrastructure.

In reply:

The request for information is too broad considering the size of the Department and the fact that it has contractual relationships with a number of telephone service providers. There would be great difficulty in searching for and collating this material. Given the obvious cost in collating this information, officers would additionally have to consider all aspects of the Freedom of Information Act to assess whether they would be able to release all of the information.

Summary

I believe that the request has been reviewed appropriately and I am happy that the original response still stands.

Contained within the officer's response were contact details to enable you to perhaps discuss further your request. This would have allowed you to further refine your request and to allow the Department to provide the information you need.
