Request for information

In your email of 24 September, you asked for:

1. Copies of the 2003 and 2006 Triennial Reviews

2. Details of all organisation and/or individuals consulted for the 2006 Review.

A copy of the 2002/03 Triennial Review of the Local Government Act 1974 is attached. Comments received on this Review are also attached.

No Triennial Review was carried out in 2005/06. A letter from the Chairman of the Commission to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister explaining why is attached. No reply to this letter was ever received.

As no Review was conducted in 2005/06, I cannot supply a list of consultees for that year, but I have the list of consultees for the 2002/03 review should you want it.

That concludes my response and I hope you find the information useful. If you feel I have not dealt properly with your request, you have the right to appeal and, should you wish to do so, I can supply a copy our internal complaints procedure. You also have the right to apply to the Information Commissioner to determine whether your request has been properly dealt with. You should note however that the Commissioner will not consider any complaint where you have not first exhausted our internal complaints process or where there has been undue delay in contacting him.
