Freedom of Information request: Lloyds TSB & HBOS  
 
Thank you for your enquiry dated 22 September requesting information under the 
Freedom of Information Act 2000. 
2.  You asked for: 
•  all email correspondence between HM Treasury and the Chairman, Chief 
Executive and any other Directors of HBOS prior to and up to the date of the 
public announcement that it was the subject of a takeover from Lloyds TSB. 

•  all email correspondence between HM Treasury and the Chairman, Chief 
Executive and other Directors of Lloyds TSB prior to the and up the date of 
the public announcement that it wished to take over HBOS.
 
3.  We have searched records from the beginning of 2008 up to the public 
announcement of the merger on 18 September for email correspondence between 
HM Treasury and the Chairmen, Chief Executives any other Directors of Lloyds TSB 
and HBOS concerning a potential merger of the two. On that basis, I confirm that we 
do not hold the information request. If you were looking for information outside of the 
scope of our search please write back with further details.
