Thank you for your e-mail of 08 March 2010, in which you ask for regarding civic and military execution. Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I have established that the Home Office does not hold the substantive information which you have requested. I have given a breakdown of what Government Department you should contact for each section of your request: -
a. `If the Home Office still keeps registers of applicants (successful or otherwise) for the post of judicial executioner, chief executioner of executioner's assistant.'
No. Any information would be held at the National Archives whose contact details are in Annex A.
b & c. `If the Home Office still takes applications or train applicants in judicial execution, and still supply, or keep instruments for judicial execution or instruments to aid the process of execution.'
No. You are advised to contact the Ministry of Justice, whose contact details are in Annex B.
d. `If all the answers to all these questions are the same in regards to British Military law as well as civic.'
Matters regarding British Military fall under the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence, whose contact details are in Annex C.
