FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST: REF 0169-08

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request, which we received on the 26 February 2008. In that request you asked for the overall spending by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the following projects and capabilities since 1st January 2005 and which companies this expenditure has been placed with:

  1. Global Collaboration

The FCO ran a Global Collaboration Project from 1st January 2005 until 29th February 2007, which focussed on the exploitation of Microsoft Sharepoint technology.

The total cost of this project was £910,931.08

Companies this expenditure has been placed with

  1. Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM)

The FCO does not have an EDRM but it does have a bespoke ERM (Electronic Records Management) system and has been developing an upgraded ERM

Total spent for the period of 1st January 2005 to 29th February 2008 is approximately £5,107,698.43

Companies this expenditure has been placed with

  1. Paper or hard copy records management services

The FCO has no paper or hard copy management services projects.

  1. Flex

The FCO has no involvement in the FLEX Shared Services. This is a Cabinet Office project.
