Dear Ms Evans,

FOI REQUEST 0211-10: BBC WORLD SERVICE

Thank you for your e-mail of 4 March (and the further clarification of 5 March) about the explanation of the spending breakdown for the BBC World Service on the Country and Regional Analysis (CRA).

As we previously explained, the BBC World Service receives a Grant-in-Aid payment from the FCO each year. The CRA is an HM Treasury document and I regret that we are unable to advise you on the explanation of the information published in this document.

You may wish to contact HM Treasury who should be in a better position to explain how it is completed. You can contact HM Treasury at the following address: Correspondence & Enquiry Unit 2/W1, Freedom of Information Section, HM Treasury 1 Horse Guards Road London SW1A 2HQ.

E-mail [email address]

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request an internal review of our decision, you should write to me within 40 working days from the date our response was issued.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint or internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Information Commissioner's Office
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow

Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the FCO.

Yours ever,

Stephen Townsend
