Dear Deep,
Thank you for your enquiry of 26 February and subsequent clarification in which you requested caseworker guidance relating to Indefinite Leave to Remain applications under the Work Permit Arrangements and Tier 2 (General). This request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Unfortunately, we do not hold the information you have requested. There is no set guidance which stipulates the criteria used when assessing applications at the level you have requested. Caseworkers refer to both the Immigration Directorate Instructions and the Immigration Rules when making decisions and will request relevant documents to satisfy themselves that the customer meets the criteria.
It is impossible to list what documents we would accept as these are so varied, plus it is not possible to determine when a caseworker will request additional documents as this will vary for each individual application.
We also cannot advise which specific security checks are undertaken as these also vary from application to application and can be influenced by many factors such where Entry Clearance was applied for etc.
I am sorry we were unable to help you with your request. If you are dissatisfied with this response, you may request an independent internal review of our handling of your request. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the UK Border Agency sending a substantive reply to your original request and should be addressed to:
