1. Who are the two largest suppliers, by value, of wide area networking services to the Authority?
A large slice of our wide area network is supplied in house, by wireless technology the small remainder is supplied by Virgin Media Business (Telewest).
2. When are the main contracts with these suppliers due to expire?
The main contract is due for renewal in April 2010, further additional circuits will fall due for renewal at different times over the following five years.
3. How many sites on your network require high speed (greater than1Gb) connections?
None
4. Have you outsourced your ICT services to a third party? If so, please specify to whom and the contract expiry date?
No, no outsourced services.
5. How many Data Centres do you use and are they on council premises or third party premises? If third party, please specify who is the supplier and the contract expiry date.
We have two Data Centres, both on council premises.
6. Do you use commercial 'co-location' services and if so who is the supplier and when is the contract expiry dates
No we don't use commercial co-location services.
