The force's Divisional Commanders are as follows:

Eastern - Chief Superintendent Bob Eastwood

Pennine - Chief Superintendent Clive Tattum

In addition to the six geographic divisions, the force also has two non-geographic divisions made up of centralised and specialised teams and departments.

G Division covers Counter Terrorism, Covert Policing, the Force Intelligence Unit, the Force Major Investigation Team, the Public Protection Unit, Scientific Support and the Serious and Organised Crime Unit. The Divisional Commander is Chief Superintendent Graham Gardner. If not otherwise stated below the contact for these departments in the first instance is the Divisional Commander.

H Division covers Accident Investigation, Civil Contingencies, Firearms, Dogs, the Motorway Unit, Operations (Air Support, Mounted, Underwater Search Unit, Firearms Licensing) and Roads Policing.
