We have considered your request and enclose the following information:
1. The total number of people who were registered as homeless in 2008:
The figures for the financial year 2008/2009 are:
April-June 173
July-September 154
October-December 177
January-March 114

2. The total amount of funds allocated for any cause related to homelessness throughout all of the council's departments in 2008:
The total figures for the financial year 2008/2009 are:
- Temporary accommodation including Hostel accommodation, private sector leased by the authority, and those directly with a private sector landlord: £1,056,892
- Housing advice including prevention work and providing advice and assistance to those presenting as being homeless or potentially homeless: £1,482,348
- Total amount spent on homelessness and 'any cause related to homelessness': £2,539,240
