1 Purpose of meeting
To discuss 3 previous options for the Styal Road / Relief Road junction, now
further developed.
1.1 Option 1 - Four arm junction on existing Styal Road bridge.
Reinvestigation of Full Option DF4A which includes Manchester DF4.
NW feels that this option is inadequate in terms of capacity.

Junction to be drawn up again with larger capacity.

There is a likelihood of crossover accidents which may result in more KSIs. NW

to instruct Richard Clark to advise.
1.2 Option 2 - Roundabout at north and at south of Styal Road.
This option has been slightly revised to minimise impact on existing stats, CPO
etc.
Initial thoughts are that the would be more Part 1 claims amd more CPO (2 semi MR
detatched properties).
Positive note is that the scheme only requires one bridge over the Styal rail line. MR
1.3 Option 3 - Styal road head east, north of sub station.
Option tabled indicating R300m curves currently between Styal rail line and
A555.
SP states that R250m plus transition lengths may work for this horizontal

alignment.
Two bridges are required for this option.
Similarly to Option 1 there is a likelihood of crossover accidents that could result

2.0 All options to be drawn up by 31.12.09 with aerial background (only 2006

available) for sub consultants to evaluate (see section 3)

Scheme options for Styal Road to be audited (RSA1) internally by SMBC.

SW to instruct Mouchell as part of 3.2.
