1.0 Introduction
1.1 The purpose of the meeting was to brief Corderoy on the updated scheme
and discuss the task of producing an updated scheme estimate. Apologies
from Tim Baker – Scott Wilson.
2.0 Rates
2.1 MR confirmed that all rates to be set at a base date of Q2 2007 as with the
previous estimate.
2.2 Inflation would be in accordance with latest (draft) WebTAG at 2.7%. An
allowance for fluctuations in the inflation will be made in the project risk
register.
3.0 Preliminaries
3.1 The construction contract duration to be 130 weeks in line with the current
programme.
4.0 Safety Fencing
4.1 JS to review costs for both steel tension crash barrier and wire rope options.
4.2 MR requested that Scott Wilson provide a review of the safety fencing 03/11

options.

5.0 Drainage, Service Ducts and Structures
5.1 DT to provide JS with a schedule of structures and culverts – DT to review 03/11

existing structures schedule against design freeze 2 layout.
6.0 Earthworks
6.1 MR explained that the earthworks information for the Manchester and
Cheshire East section was unavailable at present.
6.2 In order to allow Corderoy to carry out initial analysis, DT to provide JS with 03/11

the original and new vertical alignments of the Stockport section.
6.3 DT to review the earthworks schedules and inform Corderoy of his findings.

7.0 Kerbs, Footways and Paved Areas
7.1 MR explained that the typical cross section had changed since the previous 23/10

estimate with the hardstrips removed and additional kerbs introduced. DT to
provide JS with typical cross section dimensions.

13.1 MR confirmed that SMBC would be looking to Norfolk Property Services to 03/11

provide an update on the lands costs for the scheme by mid November for
the Stockport section. MR to confirm if Manchester City Council and
Cheshire East council would be providing an updated land costs estimate
for their sections of the scheme.
