Dear Mr Urquhart

I am replying on behalf of UK Financial Investments to your request under the Freedom of Information Act.

You requested the following information:

`The number of occasions on which the board of UK Financial Investments has met to "review its own performance, constitution and terms of reference to ensure it is operating at maximum effectiveness and recommend any changes it considers necessary to HM Treasury for approval."

The number of compliance staff employed by UKFI and, full text of the "Compliance Procedures Guide" used by compliance staff.

Full text of the Human Resources Policies and Procedures manual.'

Following a search of our records, I can confirm that we do hold the information you have requested.

The Board of UKFI have met to review its own performance, constitution and terms of reference at 11 out of the 25 of UKFI board meetings held to date and meets with HM Treasury on a quarterly basis to report on progress. In addition, we expect to complete a Board Effectiveness review before our next Annual Report.

UKFI employs one full time Compliance Officer. Please find attached copies of both the `Compliance Procedures Guide' and the `Human Resources Policies and Procedures manual' as requested. Some of the information contained in the `Compliance Procedures Guide' is subject to Sections 40 (Personal Information) and 43 (Commercial Sensitivity) of the Act.
